One of Lacey Chabert‘s most famous roles may have been as a Mean Girl, but judging from just the look of her soon-to-arrive daughter‘s sleep space, you’d never know it.

From shades of pink, cream and gray to florals, faux fur and crystal, one message is clear: This little lady — who will be the first child for Chabert and husband Dave Nehdar — will be starting off on the sweetest, and chicest, foot.

“I love that the room feels peaceful,” Chabert, 33, tells PEOPLE exclusively, adding that she hopes the couple’s daughter loves the room as much as they do.

The space, which was designed by Vanessa Antonelli, features hardwood floors and healthy amounts of pink in both linens and décor.

“Lacey is one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met and I wanted to give her a nursery that reflected that,” Antonelli tells PEOPLE. “She is so excited to be having a baby girl and the furthest thing from her mind was gender neutral. So I created a feminine and sweet space that exudes warmth and a lot of love.”

She adds, “At first glance it seems like a traditional space, but the clean lines, nailheads on the wall and gray mouldings make it a fusion of modern and traditional.”

Wall art by Lezlee Elliott — which hangs above the Everly Crib by Franklin & Ben — daintily depicts delicious sweets and heavenly scents.

Bella Notte bedding and pink bows add a soft, youthful touch to the crib, while the faux fur stool next to the accompanying Delta glider offers a more vintage vibe. The stuffed animals next to the crib tack on a playful edge that gives the area the perfect balance.

“I’m so excited to think that soon she will be sleeping in the crib,” Chabert, who wore a Rachel Pally Cap Sleeve Isa Dress ($238) for the shoot, says.

Featured in another corner is a cream-colored Amelia dresser to match the crib, complete with a coordinating gray changing pad by Nook. A silver and crystal chandelier hangs above a gray rug, while a matching silver mirror and pink-and-white floral wallpaper complete the area.

“There are so many special touches that make [the nursery] feminine and romantic,” Chabert adds, noting that the room also includes a pink knit blanket made by her own grandmother.

Chabert has been blogging for PEOPLE, taking readers along in her journey from discovering she was pregnant, to learning she was having a girl to figuring out clever ways to conceal her baby bump on movie sets.

But the former Party of Five star has always wanted to be a mom, so getting to be a part of putting together a nursery for her baby girl is something she’ll always cherish.

“Having a baby is a dream come true for us, so we are so happy to be able to give her this beautiful room to grow up in!” she says.
